Welcome to Maine’s Ticket to Work web site! What is the Ticket to Work? The “Ticket to Work” is part of a comprehensive national initiative designed to assist people with the training and support they need to go to work. Social Security beneficiaries with disabilities can find employment, vocational rehabilitation (VR) and other support services from public and private providers. The name comes from a law passed in Washington in 1999 – the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act. Since 2003, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has mailed Tickets in Maine(Click here to see an image of a Ticket) to eligible beneficiaries. SSA disability beneficiaries who receive a Ticket may use it to obtain the services they need from an Employment Network (EN) of their choice. What is this site?
