New for 2010:

  • The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a State Medicaid Directors Letter on January 28 clarifying the ability of Medicaid service providers to accept Ticket to Work outcome payments for services delivered to Medicaid enrollees.  The letter is here, but the clarification is summed up in this statement from page 2:

    “Ticket Outcome and Milestone payments do not conflict with [Medicaid] regulatory requirements and do not constitute an overpayment of Federal dollars for services provided since EN payments are payment for an outcome, rather than for a Medicaid service rendered.”

CESSI is SSA's Ticket to Work Program Manager for Recruitment and Outreach (PMRO). As such, it has a three-fold mission:

  • To recruit new Employment Networks (ENs);
  • To increase beneficiary awareness of the Ticket program and other SSA Work Incentives; and
  • To connect beneficiaries with ENs, and provide them with the opportunity to reach an employment goal or discover employment opportunities that may improve their overall quality of life.

CESSI provides a wide array of EN training and technical assistance:

  • Account Managers are available to provide prospective ENs with consultation and individualized technical assistance as they complete the EN application.
  • CESSI also offers EN Application Walk-Through teleconferences every other Wednesday at 2:00 pm EST.  These free teleconferences will guide you through the entire application, page-by-page.  It is a great opportunity for applicants to call in, ask questions, and receive step-by-step assistance on how to fill out the application.  Sign up by emailing: application@cessi.net.

National Employment Network Association - The National Employment Network Association (NENA) desires a broad membership of stakeholders in the Ticket to Work Program based in the Social Security Administration (SSA). We have devoted substantial time to projects to benefit private-sector employment networks (ENs) due to significant problems in this area of the Ticket Program. However, NENA desires to build collaborative relationships, on a local and national level, between ENs and all other stakeholders in the Ticket. Please contact us if you are:--an EN or interested, --State VR Agency,--person with a disability,--advocate or association for people with disabilities,--career networking for people with disabilities, --One-Stop Career Center, --Goodwill or similar "intermediary" organization,--employment agency,--employer,--Center for Independent Living,--Project With Industry,--disability insurance provider (carrier), --insurance industry third-party administrator,--professional association in disability or related fields. Did we leave anybody out? If you think so, please contact us!
